Our mission

Fertilizers created on the farm, by the farm.

To help create a greener future by implementing old school methodologies with new school technologies.

Our mission is to run a biodynamic farm that offers a variety of beneficial products to the community, and helps teach people about the benefits of holistic sustainable living.

We work with Korean Natural Farming, permaculture design and biodynamic principles, so the techniques keep evolving — and so even big farms can make the switch slowly, a field at a time. Less dependence on chemical fertilizer. Less runoff into the rivers. Lower material costs, and money left over for the things that actually matter.

We value the people, animals and plants around us. Attuned to nature, we teach people sustainable methodologies to make the world a greener place.

    Education

    Sustainable methodologies, taught so they stick: holistic grazing, Korean Natural Farming, permaculture design, biodynamic practice. The measure of a good lesson is that the farmer can do it next season without us.

    Consulting

    A farm doesn't have to change everything at once. We work through soil tests, companion planting, and fertilizer recipes built from what is already on hand nearby — so the switch costs less than staying put.

    Research

    We test on our own ground first — fertilizer and feed recipes, and ancestral knowledge studied alongside the communities who carry it, with quality aimed at GAP and GMP standards. Then we write it down and give it away.

  • On two continents

    Green Bee works in partnership with indigenous communities in two hemispheres — Arhuaco and Emberá in Colombia, Tiwa and Abenaki here in the United States. Much of what we research is ancestral knowledge of fertilizers, remedies and feed, studied alongside the people who have carried it the longest.

Shared ideas

The research goes out the door.

By sharing methods, recipes, and seeds we can focus on creating new procedures to help farms integrate a more green approach.

Two of them are already written: a 150+ page cattle handbook and a 50+ page fertilizer guide, both from work done on the farm rather than assembled from someone else's catalogue. We also run World Save Wednesdays.

We don't hide our sources either. The grazing lineage, the natural-farming and permaculture material, the biodynamic reading — it's all listed, so anyone can go past us straight to the original.

Why give it away

A method kept private helps one farm. The same method written down and handed over helps every farm that reads it — which is the only way the numbers move at the scale we care about.
